heartfelt apologies from the nubbin for her infrequent updates.
just returned from Seattle for colin's sister's wedding. it was on a boat on Lake Washington. they exchanged vows at the front of the boat, just as the sun was setting. light breeze, beautiful sunset, and I wouldn't have been surprised if Bambi herself had bounded around the stern of the boat. so for 3 1/2 hours we cruised around the lake, ate fancy foods and sipped refreshing beverages from the 2 bars on the boat. the sun set, and the lights of the city dotted the shoreline. we cruised past the home of Bill Gates. we cruised past the studio of Dale Chihuly (WOW). an awesome event, all in all.
I think I ate more seafood in those 5 days then I've ever had before. oysters. shrimp. salmon. *glug.* the tourist geeks that we are, we also drove around the Microsoft campus (it was on a Saturday). we saw some people playing flag football, but that was about it. we attempted to visit the Seattle Art Museum, in spite of the impressionist (blechh...!) exhibit, and I was a little underwhelmed, actually, by their permanent collection they had out. maybe they were holding back since they had this impressionist thing going on. anyway - we also had a wedding family dinner in the space needle, which was much fun - and other touristy things were enjoyed, like snow globe choices, Pike's Place Market, Pioneer Square...and lots and lots of coffee. on a completely unrelated note - the Seattle Seahawks were staying at our hotel. lots of burly men walking around.
the nubbin might be updated sporadically in the next few weeks, as she gets transferred to another home. thanks for bearing with us.
